Turkey Trot

The First Annual Grand Strand Turkey Trot was held in Myrtle Beach, SC, on
Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2007. It was presented by Withers Preserve at
the new Market Common. Thanks for viewing these pictures!
The K1 started things off. In photo
1, they were anxiously waiting for the gun so they could start the
race. In the 2nd photo, you can see one boy covering his ears in
anticipation. Janice Ash Sialiano with Withers Preserve and Dick
Richards of Coastal Timing got the races started along with several
volunteers.

By unofficial count, Betsy Alexander
placed 4th among women racers. She is the daughter of our friends
Dave Alexander, South Strand office Chicora Coldwell-Banker, and his
wife Barbara.

| Several dogs participated in the
races. Others just cheered. Medals were awarded and refreshments
were available. Everyone we talked to said they are looking forward
to Turkey Trot 2008. |
