Coastal Running Group Coastal Running Group (CRG) was formed in 2007 for the purpose of producing running, biking, triathlons, and similar events throughout the Grand Strand and neighboring areas. CRG is made up of three partners: Race Management Systems, Festival Promotions and the Grand Strand Running Club. The first event produced by CRG was the recent Grand Strand Turkey Trot on Nov. 22, 2007 at Grand Park on Withers Preserve and was sponsored by Withers Preserve . Dr Jim Troxell was the Race Director. The event was budgeted for 300 participants; 430 participants registered. The St. Patrick's Day Run Fest, described elsewhere on this website, will be the second event produced by CRG. Coastal Running Group supports the Grand Strand Running Club's High School Scholarship program.
